Terms and Conditions
These are the terms and conditions on which we supply products to you, whether these are goods and/or services.
1 Please read these terms carefully before your order is processed. These terms tell you who we are, how we will provide products to you.
2 Information about us and how to contact us
2.1. We are Hanson Flooring. You can contact us by telephoning us on 07870625234 or 0151 201 5936.
2.2. If we have to contact you, we will do so by telephone or by writing to you at the email address or postal address you provided to us in your order.
2.3. When we use the words “writing” or “written” in these terms, this includes emails and social media formats.
3 Our contract with you
3.1. These terms will apply to your purchase of any goods and/or services from us and may only be changed with our prior written authorisation. These terms together with your order once accepted by us will constitute the contract between you and us for our supply and your purchase of such goods and/or services.
3.2. Any quotation is only valid for a period of 30 business days from its date of issue. We may extend this period at our discretion.
3.3. If we are unable to accept your order, we will inform you of this and will not charge you for the product.
4 Order and survey
4.1. The order shall be detailed by a written quotation confirmation summarising the product(s) ordered and services offered.
4.2. Most orders are subject to a detailed survey to undertake measurements and specifications for the products. Should this be required one of our advisors will arrange a suitable time for this to take place. Measurements will only be guaranteed when made by Hanson Flooring.
4.3. Where more than one measuring and surveying visit is required, amendments to any original quote may be made and customers notified.
5 Our products
5.1. The images of the products on our website are for illustrative purposes only. Although we have made every effort to display the colours accurately, we cannot guarantee that a device’s display of the colours accurately reflects the colour of the products. Your product may vary slightly from those images.
6 Your rights to make changes
6.1. If you wish to make a change to the product(s) you have ordered please contact us. We will let you know if the change is possible and ask you to confirm whether you wish to go ahead with any changes required.
7 Our rights to make changes
7.1. We may change any of the product(s) you have ordered:
7.1.1. to reflect changes in relevant laws and regulatory requirements; and/or
7.1.2. to implement minor technical adjustments and improvements where manufacturers demand.
8 Delivery and installation
8.1. We will deliver the goods and supply the services to the place noted in the written quotation.
8.2. You will supply us with such information, rights of access and mains electricity that we may reasonably require in order to deliver the goods and perform the services and/or to check the goods and their installation where you notify us about a problem with the same.
8.3. We will endeavour to meet any delivery/supply or installation date.
8.4. Duration time given for installations are approximate and may be subject to change. We will notify you in advance of any such changes.
8.5. In order to ensure safe working practices, it is a condition of these terms that the area in which the works are to be carried out is cleared of, but not limited to, pets, plants, furniture, breakable items and household residents. We require 7 days notice of a cancelled installation appointment otherwise we reserve the right to charge you for the costs of the cancelled appointment.
8.6. As part of the client’s responsibility we require the areas for installation be cleared of: furniture and objects, uplift and dispose of old flooring, and any subfloor preparation deemed necessary prior to installation be carried out.
8.7. For an extra fee, some additional services can be provided. Please speak to one of our advisors. Similarly, and in order to minimise any damages, access route and stairwells should be cleared of any items, plant pots, fragiles, picture frames, objects, memorabilia or anything that is deemed a reasonable potential risk. We cannot be held responsible for any accidental damages.
8.8. We reserve the right to abort the installation and rearrange the installation appointment if it is deemed necessary failure to carry out as requested outlined in section 8.5 and 8.6 above.
8.9. If we have to get a very large piece of carpet through a narrow space or around tight corners, the carpet will sometimes brush against paintwork and wallpaper. We will always be as careful as reasonably possible, but some damage may be unavoidable due to the nature of access. We cannot be held responsible for the cost of re-decoration.
8.10. With all flooring installation some scuff marks may occur particularly with carpets. Tucking the materials between skirting and gripper using a bolster to ensure a neat finish cannot be avoided. If the paint has not been prepared correctly it may flake off. Gloss paint maybe soft for up to several weeks after painting and may therefore be damaged. Every care will be taken but we cannot be held responsible for the cost of re-decoration should damage occur due to poor preparation or curing time.
8.10.1. We exercise caution when prepping the floor for installation so as to avoid gas/water pipes or wiring.  We ask to be notified if there are any pipes less than 2 inches under the floorboards or of any hidden cables such as behind door architraves or skirting boards. We cannot be held responsible for any such damage.
8.10.2. Door trimming may be required to allow adequate clearance once goods are installed; these services can be supplied by us at an additional cost to internal doors that are solid wood. The following are non-exhaustive examples of doors that cannot be trimmed: (i) fire doors; (ii) sliding doors; (iii) hollow doors; and (iv) doors containing glass panels. Where you have not elected for us to provide these services, or such services cannot be provided due to the nature of the relevant doors or otherwise, our installations team may remove doors to facilitate installation of the goods. In such instances the doors will be left for you or your appointed carpenter to trim and/or re-hang (as the case may be).
8.10.3. If you do not allow us access to your property to deliver the goods or supply the services as arranged (and you do not have a good reason for this), we may charge you for the additional costs incurred by us as a result.
8.10.4. The product(s) you have ordered will be your responsibility from the time we deliver the product(s) to the address you gave us.
 8.11 Fitting only service
8.11.1 Where the customer has supplied their own flooring materials, we will give them recommended advice but we cannot offer any guarantees.
8.11.2 Customer is fully responsible to ensure there is suitable and sufficient material available.
8.11.3 Insufficient materials may cause delays and may require further visits to complete the job. This would be regarded as a new call out and therefore new charges may apply.
8.11.4 Where the material has been opened or cut during fitting, customer will be responsible for replacing them if there was an error in the order. 
8.11.5 In any instance we are only able to replace products that we have supplied.
8.11.6 All terms and conditions relating to installation (section 8) still applies.
 9 Price and payment
You will own the product(s) you have ordered once we have received payment in full.
9.1. The price for the goods and, where required, services to be supplied is stated on the quotation. All prices are inclusive of VAT. This may also include any additional services as requested.
9.1.1. Where goods are purchased on a supply only basis a delivery charge is payable for each attempted delivery, which is payable directly to the party delivering the goods to the agreed address.
9.2. If the rate of VAT changes between your order date and the date we supply the product(s) you have ordered, we will adjust the rate of VAT that you pay, unless you have already paid for the product(s) in full before the change in the rate of VAT takes effect.
9.3. On acceptance of your quote you agree to our payment terms in which a deposit is required to confirm your order. Once your deposit has been paid, all required materials will be ordered to complete your job. If you wish to cancel your order, please contact us as soon as possible and we will check the status of your order and confirm if cancellation is possible. Some materials are cut to size on order and cannot be returned. All products are subject to a return administration fee.
9.4. The outstanding balance must be settled on the day of completion. We reserve the right to charge 2.5% interest rate of the balance applicable on the fourth day of non-payment and each day after that. In the event that your final balance payment is not received by us (for example, if your debit or credit card declines) or if you otherwise fail to make your final balance payment to us upon completion of the installation of the product(s) ordered, we reserve the right to recover such payment.
10 Manufacturer warranty
10.1. The goods supplied can be subject to a Variable Wear Guarantee, which:  differs by flooring type and is set by the manufacturer of the flooring. For example, if the goods supplied are subject to a ten-year Variable Wear Guarantee and, within ten years of the date of purchase, your flooring in any area wears down to the backing as a result of normal domestic use, the manufacturer of the goods supplied will supply replacement flooring for which may incur some charges to replace (subject to manufacturer’s terms).
10.1.1  This Variable Wear Guarantee: (i) does not (in relation to any flooring type) cover appearance change, flattening, matting, fading, damage and/or wear due to abuse, misuse or poor maintenance; and (ii) applies only to the flooring as originally fitted and will not apply to any flooring which has been moved, altered or already replaced under the terms of any warranty.
10.2. Colour reproduction can vary across batches of flooring. Flooring is matched back to the master sample to ensure that the colour remains within a commercial tolerance, however: (i) flooring that varies in width may vary in colour as it may be from different batches; (ii) a greater level of tolerance is required for blended colours (heathers); and (iii) carpets that are identical but laid with the pile travelling in different directions may appear not to match.
10.3. Whilst every attempt will be made by us to ensure that the goods supplied match in every respect any samples shown or description given to you, any minor or immaterial variation between sample or description and the goods delivered shall not entitle you to: (i) reject the goods; (ii) withhold or reduce payment of the purchase price; or (iii) claim any compensation for such variation.
10.4. The Variable Wear Guarantee set out in clause 10.1 shall not apply: (i) in relation to fading or discolouration caused by fair wear and tear; and/or (ii) where the relevant fault or defect has been caused by your misuse and/or neglect of the products and/or by accidents caused while the products are in your possession.
